To obtain a quote for profession Spanish translation we request that clients and prospective clients email us their documents and digital content to review. Translation pricing is most often calculated based on a per word rate. Once the per word rate is established then a price is established by simply multiplying by the number of words in a project or document.

Once a document is received we do our best to review the material and return a quote as soon as possible. Usually it's within 24 hours. Quote requests for documents received by noon of a business day are often quoted by the end of the same business day.

The per word rate is determined by several considerations including:

1) The total number of words in a project. For larger projects the per word rate can be more competitive since translators become more efficient over the course of translating a large body of material. Familiarity with the subject matter is reinforced and as a result the work flows even more smoothly without many starts and stops. When production costs go down so can the price.

2) The relative complexity of the content of the project. Our objective is always to assign the most qualified translator(s), that is those who are familiar with the subject matter to be translated, to every project we do. Still there are times that translators much stop and research the best translation for a given word or phrase, especially in technical and specialized subject matter projects. In projects where source material contains many specialized terms connected with the subject matter, the translation process can be slowed somewhat and as a result the per word rate for translation is higher.

3) Turnaround time. If a client needs a translation on an expedited basis then the per word rate is typically increased ranging from 2 to 3 times the normal rate. Our default practice is to quote normal turnaround time for projects. In most cases normal turnaround is sufficient for clients who prefer to avoid rush fees. For projects that simply must be done on an expedited basis, additional translators are typically assigned to the project that's divided into sections and merged at the end. For continuity's sake our preference is to employe the services of a single translator, editor, and proofreader to make the consistency of translation throughout a project.
