And So It Begins

June 28th, 2007 by Ron McCoy

A blog about Spanish translation? Well …yes. I think the topic’s interesting, though it’s my business. Do others find this subject worthy of discussion? Well if you’ve seen the latest demographics on the US hispanic population, you know the Spanish language already touches much of the US social, economic, and governmental fabric. Then there’s US neighboring Latin America and the roughly 500 million total people on the planet that speak Spanish.

Should you by chance find your way to this blog and be inclined to express thoughts on the direction taken here, potential discussion topics, etc., please let me know. I’m just starting out. I invite you to join in.

    Ron,

Congratulations for your new blog. Looks like you are new to the translation industry, and you have a long and strenous road ahead of you. You picked the most competitive language market: the English-Spanish language pair is sort of saturated in the U.S., but as long as you have clients willing to buy, you will thrive.

If you have a chance, take a look at our website: www.commonsenseadvisory.com. And subscribe to our blog. That will keep you posted about what is going on this space. Common Sense Advisory is the only market research and consulting company specializing in the Language Services space.

    Keep on going!

    Renato,
Thanks for your comments. You’re correct that Affinity Spanish is a relatively new organization … less than a year old. Although, the language specialists that work for the company have 15-20 years (and sometimes more) professional experience. We believe our fresh approach to the market and the experience of our people combine to create a compelling value proposition for customers. So far our experience seems to support that belief. We’re working hard to ensure it continues. Thanks again,
    Ron
