Seriously what you describe is exciting, though by 'near future' are we talking in our lifetimes? I suspect that even once this capability is available, it won't pass for the high-quality translation/interpretation performed by skilled human linguists, native to the target language. Still the 'universal translator' concept is intriguing. I definitely agree. John, our entire blog is self-serving (for the most part) so why shouldn’t you join in? Although the primary audience of my blog will initially probably be native English speakers, I want to it to be inclusive since the blog pertains to Spanish language instruction/education. It wouldn't be right, in my opinion, to have a blog that was only having a dialogue with one side of the aisle, so to speak. Great post!
